Melonpan
- 250g flour
- 40g butter
- 100ml milk
- yeast
- 60 sugar
- 1 egg
inner dough
- 200g flour
- 60g butter
- 100g sugar
- 1 egg
outer dough
- mix ingredients for the outer dough and refrigerate. make sure it won't freeze.
- mix ingredients for the inner dough and rise for 30-60 minutes until it puffs up nicely.
- form 5 buns, cover each in a layer of the outer dough. only cover the upper side, it doesn't have to fully surround the bun.
- cut the typical melonpan pattern into the outer layer and rise for 30 more minutes.
- roll buns in sugar
- preheat oven to 180°C and bake for ~15 minutes.
